Content Policy

Hoodwide mails postcards to people's homes. People can't opt out of their own mailbox, so we're careful about what goes in it. Every order is reviewed by a person before it mails.

What you can't mail

Anything unlawful, or that promotes illegal activity.
Harassment or threats, including anything meant to intimidate, frighten, or single out the people who live at these addresses.
Content naming or targeting specific residents. Postcards go to "Current Resident." Don't use them to send a message to one household or to identify a neighbor.
Deception, including false claims, fake urgency, fake government or official notices, fake invoices or checks, and pretending to be someone else.
Impersonation of a person, business, or public agency.
Hate speech, or content attacking people based on race, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or similar characteristics.
Sexual or obscene material, or graphic violence.
Scams and prohibited offers, including chain letters, pyramid schemes, and illegal lotteries.
Regulated products you're not licensed to advertise, such as cannabis, firearms, tobacco, prescription drugs, or financial products, unless you can show you comply with the rules that apply.
Other people's work you don't have the rights to use, including photos, logos, and trademarks.
Anything our printing partner prohibits, or that the Postal Service won't carry.

Political and advocacy mail

Campaign, ballot, and advocacy mail is allowed if it's truthful, isn't deceptive about who sent it, and follows the rules above and any disclosure laws that apply to you.

How review works

We look at every order's artwork and mailing area before it goes out. We may decline any order, with or without a reason. If we decline, nothing is mailed, the hold on your card is released, and you're not charged.

Reporting a problem

If you received a postcard you believe breaks these rules, contact us with the postcard details and we'll look into it. We keep records of who ordered each mailing.
